Amalfitan New Year's Day
|
The 1 September each year is remembered for the investiture of the Duke of Amalfi. This ceremony, best known as "Amalfitan New Year's Day", is celebrated with a parade to the neighbouring village of Atrani, wearing costumes typical of the period when Amalfi was the great Maritime Republic.
